Install portable MX Linux on USB without affecting Windows!
- Burn the MX Linux ISO using Rufus (Windows). Choose GPT or MBR depending on your system (UEFI or BIOS). Select ISO Hybrid Mode when it prompts for the ISO mode.
- Shutdown your machine and change the boot order to use USB.
- Choose the Custom option from the MX Live Linux Menu to create a customized system. Select from=usb and persist_all in the subsequent menus. Don't give more than 4 GB for any of the new filesystems it creates as FAT32 seems to have some restrictions, it can be resized later.
